RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
·      Approval of Resolution

ITEM SUMMARY:
·      This Resolution authorizes a professional services contract to provide Project Management services related to the preparation, coordination and implementation of a new Fire Software System for an amount not to exceed $147,200.
·      Three firms submitted statements of qualifications and were evaluated by City staff from the Fire and Information Technology Departments.
·      The two top-ranking firms were interviewed by the evaluation team and the firm of Sciens LLC is recommended for selection for the project.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
·      Due to antiquated Fire software and lack of integration with current systems, the City is seeking a consultant that will provide project management support and services throughout the duration of the Fire software project (development of the RFP, software selection, integration with existing systems, training, etc.). The Consultant, in conjunction with the selected vendor, will oversee the design, configuration, testing, deployment and post implementation support.
·      A project manager is essential to guide the implementation through completion based on the complexity and the lack of end user experience in implementing such systems.

FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
·      The Resolution authorizes a professional services contract for project management services with Sciens LLC for an amount not to exceed $147,200.
·      Funding in the amount of $40,000 is available in the Information Technology budget in the General Fund and $107,200 is available in the Technology Improvement Fund.
