RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• Approval of the attached Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• Veterans Memorial Park is located in Van Tuyl Plaza at Craig Ranch.
• JDC Construction Company submitted the lowest bid for the construction of Veterans Memorial Park in McKinney project with a bid of $897,000.
• A total of five bids were submitted and accepted.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• LanArc Design, Inc., with Staff support, recommends accepting the bid from JDC Construction Company for the construction of the Veterans Memorial Park in McKinney project.
• This project is scheduled for completion in November 2011.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• Veterans Memorial Park in McKinney Project (PK6083) is a FY 10-11 Capital Improvements Program project funded by donations, a Collin County grant, in-kind services, and MCDC funds.
• The total project funding including fundraising expenses, land acquisition, design and construction of the improvements is $1,254,076.
• Fundraising, land acquisition, design and engineering $ 57,985
• In-kind services $ 235,917
• Construction $ 897,000
• Project Contingency $ 63,174

BOARD OR COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:
• On May 11, 2011, the McKinney Armed Services Memorial Board recommended the award of the construction contract for the Veterans Memorial Park in McKinney project to JDC Construction Company.
• On May 12, 2011, the Parks, Recreation and Open Space Advisory Board recommended the award of the construction contract for the Veterans Memorial Park in McKinney project to JDC Construction Company.
