ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     McKinney Community Development Corporation will conduct a public hearing on a project grant application submitted by The Haddington Fund, LP for two neon signs at The Flour Mill in McKinney.

                     One sign will be installed on top of The Flour Mill to promote and draw visitor focus on one of McKinney’s landmark buildings.

                     Two additional signs will be installed on the building promoting The Diamond Hall.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     The McKinney Flour Mill opened in 1872 and is now a historic gem and focal point in the heart of McKinney’s East Side and Historic Cultural District.

                     The venue hosts corporate events, weddings and other celebrations in its unique event halls.

                     Additionally, The Flour Mill is home to several local businesses.

 

FINANCIAL SUMMARY: 

                     Funds allocated for MCDC discretionary Project Grants for FY23 totaled $2,177,223.

                     In FY 2021, MCDC awarded a Retail Development Infrastructure Grant for $25,000 for infrastructure improvements to Ashlee’s Garden, an outdoor event space located at The Flour Mill.

                     The request is eligible for MCDC consideration under Section 505.152 of the Texas Local Government Code - Projects related to museums and exhibition facilities.
