RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:

Discussion and Clarification on Terms for Eight Appointees and Appoint a Veterinarian to the Animal Service Facility Advisory Committee

ITEM SUMMARY:

On August 24th the City Council approved the 2015-16 annual appointments.

During the meeting, there were eight new members appointed to fill unexpired terms.

At the time of appointment, no designation was made on which of the appointees would fill the unexpired terms and which ones would be appointed to full two year terms.

Staff is recommending that the appointee who received the least number of preferences (if applicable) would serve for the unexpired term.  In the case where there was not one person who received the fewest preferences, then the one year term would be allocated alphabetically by last name to serve the one year term.

The same person shall not be appointed to fulfill more than one (1) of these requirements.”
