ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     McKinney Community Development Corporation will conduct a public hearing on a retail development infrastructure grant application submitted by The Haddington Fund, LP for infrastructure needed for a new Garden Café, a catering business and outdoor restaurant.

                     Project elements include fencing, ADA compliant ramp, wall and footer for planters, decomposed granite and walkway to parking lot.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     The McKinney Flour Mill opened 1872 and is now a historic gem and landmark in the heart of McKinney’s East Side and Historic Cultural District.

                     The venue hosts corporate events, weddings and other celebrations in its unique event halls.

                     Additionally, The Flour Mill is home to several local businesses.

                     The existing building already has a commercial kitchen which Garden Café will occupy within the property and add an outdoor restaurant.

 

FINANCIAL SUMMARY: 

                     Funds allocated for FY23 Retail Development Infrastructure Grants is $200,000.

                     This grant requires a 25% match, and the maximum grant funding limited to $50,000 per grant.

                     The request is eligible for MCDC consideration under Section 501.103 of the Texas Local Government Code.

                     In FY 2021, MCDC awarded a Retail Development Infrastructure Grant for $25,000 for infrastructure improvements to Ashlee’s Garden, an outdoor event space located at The Flour Mill.
