RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• Approval of the Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• This Resolution establishes a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) of $6,888,150 as proposed by McRight-Smith Construction, LLC.
• This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a contract amendment with McRight-Smith Construction, LLC, the Construction Manager at Risk for the completion of the design and construction of the TKI Executive Terminal located at 1508 Industrial Blvd at the McKinney National Airport, McKinney, Texas.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The original agreement allowed for the GMP to be proposed after the completion of the design plans and bidding process.
• The construction documents have been issued and have been advertised for bids by McRight-Smith Construction, LLC.
• McRight-Smith Construction, LLC has compiled the bids and submitted a final Guaranteed Maximum Price for approval.
• With this approval, McRight-Smith Construction, LLC will be notified to begin construction.
• Regardless of project size, McRight-Smith Construction, LLC offers a wide range of construction services over a variety of construction project types in North Texas. They are a Plano based firm with over 35 years of experience. They have successfully completed other aviation facility projects and is the firm recommended for selection for the project.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• The TKI Executive Terminal project is included in the FY21 Capital Improvements Program plan and funds are available in AI2068.
• The Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a contract amendment to the existing Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) services contract, for construction services with McRight-Smith Construction, LLC for an amount not to exceed $6,888,150.
• Upon approval of this item, $1,718,940 will remain in AI2068.
