RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• Approval of the Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute Amendment 002 to the professional services contract to provide additional architectural and engineering services related to the McKinney Municipal Service Center - South Campus (MMSC-SC) Project No. FC1202 located at 1550 South College Street.
• The selected consultant team, Quorum Architects, Inc. (Quorum), has submitted a proposal to provide continued professional architectural and engineering services for the MMSC-SC in the amount of $6,000.
• This proposed amendment to the contract is a result of the delay caused by the City placing the project on hold for 18 months while both phases of the north campus project were complete and fully functional.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• Quorum Architects, Inc. is an award winning professional architectural consulting services firm based in Ft. Worth, Texas, that specializes in public architecture with an emphasis on public works projects and has been previously been selected to design the master plan for the McKinney Public Works Facility.
• On March 1, 2016, the City of McKinney entered into a contract with Quorum Architects Inc. for architectural and engineering services related to Project FC1202 and on February 18, 2021, Amendment 001 for additional services was executed.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• The Resolution authorizes an amendment to the professional services contract for architectural and engineering services, including potential changes to the scope of services, with Quorum Architects, Inc. for an amount not to exceed $7,000 which includes a contingency of $1,000. With approval of this Resolution, the contract NTE amount will increase to $94,100 which includes $1,000 contingency.
• Upon approval of this item, $2,683,967 will remain in project FC1202.
