ITEM SUMMARY:
• On Tuesday, August 25, 2020, the McKinney City Council will appoint members to the various city Boards & Commissions. Unless noted otherwise, those appointed will serve terms effective October 1, 2020-September 30, 2022.
• For consideration, interested individuals (including incumbent members with terms expiring in 2020) must complete an application and participate in an interview.
• The deadline to apply is Friday June 19, 2020. Apply online at <https://mckinney.granicus.com/boards/apply>. Incumbent board members should use the email address on file to update their existing application.
• Interviews will be conducted in June / July (schedule to be determined)
• Prior to October 1, new and reappointed members must complete Board Member Orientation conducted by the Board and / or Office of the City Secretary (schedule to be determined)
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• Every year, approximately half of all McKinney Boards & Commissions appointments expire, with those vacancies filled by City Council vote.
