RECOMMENDED ACTION:                     

                     Approve recommendation to the City Council.

 

ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     Through an associated Interlocal Agreement (ILA), the cities of McKinney, Frisco and the Frisco Independent School District agreed to a joint project to construct pedestrian walkways and a pedestrian bridge over an existing drainage swale in Ash Woods Park.

                     A total of 4 bids were submitted and accepted.

 

                     Wall Enterprises submitted the lowest bid for the construction of the project for an amount not to exceed $156,555.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     Staff, along with FISD support, recommend awarding the bid to Wall Enterprises for the construction of the Ash Woods Park Bridge project.

 

                     If approved, the contract allows for construction to begin in March 2016 with a June 2016 deadline for completion.

 

FINANCIAL SUMMARY: 

                     The Ash Woods Park Bridge project (PK4368) is a FY15-16 Capital Improvements Project funded by Parkland Dedication Funds and Frisco ISD contributions in an amount of $176,000.

 

                     Staff will be requesting additional construction funds to City Council in a concurrent CIP Amendment to be appropriated from Parkland Dedication Funds Zone 3 and appropriating additional contribution funds from FISD.

 

                     Below is a breakdown of project expenditures.

BOARD OR COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:

 

                     On February 2, 2016, a similar agenda item will be presented to the City Council for their approval.

 

                     On February 2, 2016, in a concurrent CIP Amendment, staff will be requesting approval from City Council for additional construction funds to be appropriated from Parkland Dedication Funds Zone 3 and appropriating $24,160 for FISD additional contributions.
