ITEM SUMMARY:
• Adriatica Master Association submitted an application for a grant, in the amount of $98,392, to complete a publicly accessible “Harbor Park” at Adriatica Village to enhance physical appeal and provide a safer environment for the thousands of residents and visitors who utilize the Village for activities, events, celebrations and photography.
• The project will be the culmination of many projects over the years that enhance the Village and provide connectivity throughout the Village and to its neighboring residential and commercial developments.
• This project proposes building amphitheater-style seating into the slope facing the stage at the harbor area by building multi-level 18” retaining wall seating and grade level observation decks to the south of the seating area.
• This project also proposes the completion of traffic pattern connections by adding 320 lineal feet of cobblestone stamped walkway and adding irrigation and sod.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• Adriatica Village is a highly photographed location in McKinney, as the Croatian-inspired scenery and lake offers a unique and romantic backdrop.
• Adriatica Village hosts twelve to fifteen events in the Village each year, attracting thousands of visitors to the area.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• Funds allocated for FY22 for discretionary Project Grants is $1,749,025, and $681,520.09 remain.
• The request is eligible for MCDC consideration under Section 505.152 of the Texas Local Government Code.
