• Approval of Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• This Resolution authorizes the Deputy City Manager to execute a contract and all necessary change orders with Tiseo Paving Company for the construction of Stacy Road Lanes 5 & 6 from Ridge Road to SH 121 and a right turn lane from SH 121 to Ridge Road for a total contract amount not to exceed $1,100,000.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• HW Lochner, Inc, prepared the construction plans for this project.
• No right-of-way was acquired for this project as the two additional lanes on Stacy Road will be constructed in the existing median.
• Three bids were received for this project on March 13, 2014. The following is a summary of the bids:

• The bid from XIT Paving and Construction, Inc, did not include unit prices for each line item and was, therefore, considered non-responsive.
• Tiseo Paving Company submitted the low bid in the amount of $958,324.02.
• Tiseo Paving Company submitted references and qualifications that were verified in accordance with the bid specifications.
• Tiseo Paving Company successfully completed the Alma Road and Silverado Trail project in 2013 and is currently working toward the successful completion of the FM 543 Connector Road project.
• The contract documents require that this project be completed within 180 calendar days after issuance of the Notice to Proceed, which is expected in mid-April. Construction is expected to be complete in October 2014.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• This Resolution authorizes a contract and all necessary change orders with Tiseo Paving Company for an amount not to exceed $1,100,000.
• Funds are available in the Capital Improvements Program in ST3204.
