ITEM SUMMARY:
ยท The total amount of this project is estimated to be $260,000 for design and construction.
ยท This Ordinance amends the FY2014-2015 annual budget and the 2015-2019 CIP for US 380 and Tremont Boulevard Traffic Signal (TR4373) by:
o Setting up a new CIP project TR4373 for US 380 and Tremont Boulevard Traffic Signal project.
o Transferring $130,000 from Roadway Impact Fees (Zone C) to the Street Construction Fund project TR4373.
o Transferring $130,000 from Roadway Impact Fees (Zone G) to the Street Construction Fund project TR4373.
o By appropriating $260,000 in the Street Construction Fund for the US 380 and Tremont Boulevard Traffic Signal project (TR4373).
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
ยท The Tucker Hill residents requested a traffic signal at the intersection of Tremont Boulevard and US 380. The traffic volume at this location has been increasing making it difficult to safely and efficiently maneuver vehicles through the intersection.
ยท The City and TxDOT met with Tucker Hill residents to discuss the situation. The City performed a traffic signal study which was reviewed by TxDOT. Both agencies agreed that a traffic signal should be installed based on current and future traffic volumes.
ยท Roadway Impact Fees have been identified as the funding source for this project. Project S-12 in the Roadway Impact Fee Report within zones C and G identifies the installation of a traffic signal at the intersection of US 380 and Tremont Boulevard.
