RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• Approval of Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a supplemental agreement with Civil Consulting Group, PLLC for additional professional consulting engineering services for the Ridge Road (US 380 to Wilmeth Road) Project (ST1617), for an increase in the not to exceed from $1,180,000 to a total aggregate contract amount, inclusive of any additional supplemental agreements, not to exceed $1,240,000.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• Civil Consulting Group, PLLC is currently under contract with the City for professional consulting engineering services related to the Ridge Road (US 380 to Wilmeth Road) Project (ST1617). As detailed design and construction have progressed, the following additional services have/will be required which were not included in the original contract:
o Additional design and construction administration related to approximately 1,500 linear feet of 36” water line which required relocation to allow for proposed bridge and roadway construction.
o Design revisions and unanticipated coordination efforts related to ongoing development projects during the design of Ridge Road (Wilmeth Ridge South, Prosper ISD Elementary School).
o Expansion of project scope during design to incorporate the connection of eastbound Wilmeth Road (approximately 1,000 feet east of Ridge Road).
o Additional traffic control plans and design required for the full reconstruction of the traffic signal at Ridge Road and US 380.
o Landscape, irrigation, and illumination design for the roundabout at Ridge Road and Wilmeth Road.
o Additional anticipated construction phase services.
• Construction of the project is currently underway and is expected to be completed by January 2023.
• Civil Consulting Group, PLLC submitted a proposal for $55,600.00 for the remaining additional services ($1,235,415.35 aggregate contract total), which has been reviewed by staff and exceeds the previously authorized not to exceed amount of $1,180,000.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• The Resolution authorizes a supplemental agreement with Civil Consulting Group, PLLC, for an increase in the not to exceed contract amount from $1,180,000 to a total aggregate contract amount, inclusive of any additional supplemental agreements, not to exceed $1,240,000.
• Funding for this contract is included in the Capital Improvements Program (ST1617).
• With the approval of this item, $313,086 will remain in project ST1617.
