RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• Approval of the Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a professional services contract to provide architectural and engineering services related to the design and reconfiguration of the Public Safety Building located at 2200 Taylor-Burk Drive, McKinney, TX.
• The selected consultant team, Gensler, has submitted a proposal to provide professional architectural and engineering services for the Public Safety Building for an amount of $189,801.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• On February 20, 2018, Resolution 2018-02-023(R), was passed by City Council approving pre-qualified firms to provide on-call professional services for architectural and engineering services to the City. Gensler was selected as one of the firms determined to be the most qualified and is included in our on-call pool of architectural and engineering services firms.
• Gensler is a global architecture, design, and planning firm with 46 locations and more than 5,000 professionals networked across the globe. Gensler was chosen as the #1 Architecture Firm in the Architectural Record’s 2017 top 300 Firms. Their Dallas location will be providing the services for this project.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• These A&E Services will be funded from Project FC1728 Public Safety Phase 4 Reconfiguration of Vacated Spaces in the main Public Safety Building.
• The Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a professional services contract for architectural and engineering services, including potential changes to the scope of services, with Gensler for an amount not to exceed $208,801 which includes an approximate 10% contingency amount of $19,000.
