ITEM SUMMARY:
• The Parks and Recreation Department is requesting a reallocation of $18,302 from PK4399 Parks Umbrella Fund to PK4393 Towne Lake Park.
• This reallocation will provide funding for the design and implementation of the Towne Lake Master Plan.
• Moving forward, a generalized Parks Umbrella Fund will no longer be included in the CIP budget.
• The second request is for the reallocation of $14,409 from PK1211 Finch Park Phase 4 to PK 2039 Finch Park Phase 5.
• Phase 4 is complete, with the exception of the installation of signage kiosks. Due to extensive lead times, Staff is closing out this phase and requesting to transfer the remaining balance to Phase 5 so that all remaining funds may be utilized with this final phase.
• The final request is for the reallocation of $404,000 from the generalized PK1213 Trails Project to PK1827 Greens of McKinney Trail Project.
• This project is currently under design with construction anticipated to begin early 2023.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The MCDC approved $5,500,000 in funding in FY21-21 for various park projects.
• If approved, these reallocations will be reflected in the FY22-23 budget.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• This request is eligible for MCDC consideration under Section 505.152 of the Texas Local Government Code.
• These projects promote parks and park developments that will enhance the quality of life for McKinney residents.
