RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:                     

                     Approval of the Ordinance.

 

ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     This Ordinance amends the FY2015-2016 annual CIP budget and the 2016 - 2020 Capital Improvement Program, by increasing the budget by $48,320 by transferring $24,160 from the Parkland Dedication Zone 3 Fund and $24,160 for ISD Contributions to the Parks Construction Fund and appropriating the funds to CIP project PK4368 Ash Woods Park Hike and Bike Trail Bridge Project.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     Project design and bidding have been completed.

 

                     The ability to award the bid is contingent on amending the project budget as proposed.

 

                     Through an associated Interlocal Agreement (ILA), the cities of McKinney, Frisco and the Frisco Independent School District agreed to a joint project to construct pedestrian walkways and a pedestrian bridge over an existing drainage swale in Ash Woods Park.

 

                     McKinney’s agreed portion of the project was estimated to cost $160,000, of which FISD will fund half.  The following is the breakdown of the estimated cost.

                     The actual cost is $208,320 with the break down as follows:

                     An additional amount of $24,160 is required of each party from the original estimated amount.

 

                     FISD’s board approved their portion of the project funding on February 8, 2016 in an amount of $104,160.

 

                     FISD’s funds will be provided once the work has been completed as a reimbursement to the City.

 

                     Finally, an amount of $16,000 was previously approved in the budget to cover a 10% project construction contingency.  These funds may / or may not be expended and therefore is not reflected as a shared cost at this time.

 

                     An accompanying Resolution to enter into a construction contract is also on this agenda for Council’s consideration.
