ITEM SUMMARY:
• The City of McKinney is currently in the process of identifying an executive search firm, through a request for qualifications (RFQ), who can provide the expertise and services required to perform executive search services for the recruitment of a City Manager.
• Six (6) responses in addition to the two (2) received on December 4, 2015 were received on January 13, 2016:
o Chris Hartung Consulting, LLC - Addison, TX
o GovHR USA - Northbrook, IL
o KRW Associates - Colorado Springs, CO
o Ralph Andersen & Associates - Rocklin, CA
o Slavin Management Consultants - Norcross, GA
o Waters & Company - Addison, TX
• The City Council met in a special meeting on January 15, 2016 to select the firms they would like to invite to make presentations. Invited firms are as follows:
o Chris Hartung Consulting, Inc.,
o GovHR USA,
o Ralph Andersen & Associates,
o Slavin Management Consultants,
o The Novak Consulting Group
• Council will select the firm they deem the most qualified to perform the executive search services for the recruitment of a City Manager.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The City issued an additional Request for Qualifications, 16-45RFQ (A) for Executive Search Services on December 23, 2015.
• The Novak Consulting Group and Strategic Government Resources (SGR) made presentations to the City Council on December 21, 2015.
• City Council met on December 21, 2015 and tabled this item to allow an opportunity to request additional proposals be submitted by January 13, 2016.
• City Council met on January 19, 2016 and tabled this item to allow all presentations to be made prior to a decision on the selection of the recruiting firm.
