ITEM SUMMARY:

This Resolution amends the FY2016-2017 annual budget and the 2017 - 2021 Capital Improvements Program by adding Issued Revenue Bonds to WA1626 - McKinney Ranch Pump Station Improvements Project.

The project will be funded with funds from the following projects:

o                     Transferring $75,000 Issued Revenue Bonds funds from University Pump Station 10 MG Ground Storage Tank Project (WA6116) to the Unallocated Fund Balance Project (WA0000).

O                     Appropriating $75,000 from the Unallocated Fund Balance (WA0000) for WA1626 - McKinney Ranch Pump Station Improvements Project.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

•    McKinney Ranch Pump Station is one of three existing water pump stations that provides water for the City.  McKinney Ranch serves two of the three water pressure planes, the 850 and 920 pressure planes.

The existing Pump No. 4 for the 920 pressure plane is in need of removal, inspection and replacement of various components for the pump operations.

A recent inspection of the pump condition indicated several potential pump components that need to be replaced to maintain pump operations prior to the beginning of the Summer 2017 water demands.

The project funding will provide Issued Revenue Bonds for beginning the component replacements for Pump No. 4.

Upon approval of this budget amendment, a Buy Board contractor will be hired to complete the work as soon as possible.  The Public Works Department will coordinate the construction work with the Buy Board contractor during the duration of the project.

FINANCIAL SUMMARY:

With approval of this item, $357,940 will remain in WA6116.

With approval of this item, $2,000,000 Unissued Revenue Bonds and $75,000 Issued Revenue Bonds will remain in WA1626.
