BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
·      For the past 3 years, Information Technology has been trying to refresh aging and non-operational video surveillance cameras in and around City of McKinney buildings. Our current video surveillance solution is over 8 years old and it is critical to replace the systems this year. Currently, many of our surveillance cameras are not functional or have limited functionality due to sun damage and/or old age. In many cases we are unable to record and/or retrieve video because the legacy recording server is end of life, the hardware has failed or is failing and cannot be replaced. These camera systems are designed to help protect City assets and infrastructure and aid in criminal investigation of theft and fraud.
·      By replacing the City's distributed camera systems with one centralized video management solution, we will be in a better position to manage, store, and retrieve video as needed. This decision will also help reduce the hardware, storage, and maintenance costs associated with having recorders in multi locations.
·      The following locations have cameras that will be replaced, licensed, and/or added to:
o      Annex B (HR, Code, etc.)
o      City Hall
o      Courts
o      I.T.
o      JJG Library
o      McKinney National Air Center
o      MPAC
o      Public Safety
o      RHH Library
o      Senior Center
o      Facility Services Center (FSC)

·      Funding in the amount of $239,687 has been approved in FY14 Budget.
