ITEM SUMMARY:
• This Resolution authorizes award of a fixed price contract with Boyd Electric LTD. of Rowlett, TX for as needed electrical services.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The contract with our existing Electrical Services vendors expired February 2, 2021.
• The City issued Invitation to Bid 21-01FP, Electrical Services on January 10, 2021.

o 302 matching eBid Supplier Notifications
• In response to all notices published, five (5) bids were received on February 1, 2021.
• An evaluation group comprised of staff from Facilities Maintenance reviewed and ranked the proposals based on the following criteria:
o Price (Hourly labor rates and percent mark-up on materials)
o Reputation of bidder’s goods and services verified through references
o Response time (Emergency and Non-emergency)
o Extent to which the goods and services meet the City’s needs
o McKinney Local Presence
• After careful consideration of all evaluation criteria and additional materials received the evaluation group recommends Boyd Electric LTD. of Rowlett, Texas.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• Fiscal year 2020’s electrical services spend was approximately $194,035.
• Factors that affect the overall spend each year for services are items budgeted on the Facilities Maintenance replacement schedules, items added for new construction and/or renovation projects, and as needed services that arise for day to day operations.
• Contract will commence on date of award and continue for a one (1) year period with additional two (2) one-year renewals
