ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     McKinney Community Development Corporation will conduct a public hearing on a project grant application submitted Sanchez Charities, LLC for costs related to horizontal infrastructure and site development costs for The Mustard Seed Project, which will be located at White Street and Redbud Drive in McKinney.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     The mission of Sanchez Charities, LLC is to leverage the business relationships and concentrate the resources of those relationships to improve the lives of Texas residents where specific needs are identified.

 

                     Strategic goals for Sanchez Charities include: Community Development; Reduce Hunger; and Community Enhancement.

 

                     The Mustard Seed Project will be a campus and resource center for nonprofit organizations in McKinney that will encourage collaboration and synergy across nonprofit service providers to improve and enhance service delivery to clients.

 

                     The project as proposed would include construction of 9,000 square feet, in two buildings, to provide a community resource center, “one-stop shop” intake area to be used by multiple nonprofit agencies, low-cost office and meeting space, data management to improve delivery of services and enhance quality of life for client families.

 

FINANCIAL SUMMARY:

                     MCDC has allocated $1,530,105 for the discretionary project grant program in FY21.

                     The request is eligible for MCDC consideration under Section 501.103 of the Texas Local Government Code.
