ITEM SUMMARY:
• This item allows the City Manager to execute a third amendment to the tennis services management agreement.
• The existing agreement was originally executed in 2012, and two amendments were approved by City Council thereafter.
• The second amendment extended the agreement to February 2, 2022 with a five-year renewal option extending the agreement to February 2, 2027.
• Approval of a third amendment to the agreement is proposed which will allow the City Manager to extend the contract to Feb 2, 2037, with one additional five-year extension.
• This amendment further modifies the operating payments and requires a cash contribution by Impact Activities for the City’s use in delivering the forthcoming indoor tennis facility and other capital improvement projects.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The indoor tennis facility is currently under construction at the Courts of McKinney with an anticipated completion date on or before November 1, 2022. The facility will deliver six new courts, fitness and training areas, locker rooms, and a mezzanine viewing area.
• The project was funded within the FY20-24 Capital Improvements Program and received a Texas Parks and Wildlife Grant in 2019.
• Staff is extremely pleased with the quality of services provided by Impact Activities and this third amendment addresses the addition of this indoor complex to the Courts of McKinney tennis facility.
