RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
· Approval of Resolution if construction contract is approved by Council.
ITEM SUMMARY:
· This Resolution amends the 2015-2019 Capital Improvements Program by reallocating cost savings on two completed projects (ST7128 Intersection Improvements Project & ST6091 FM 543 Realignment Project) to fund the construction of TR3215 Virginia Street and Louisiana Street Traffic Calming Improvements Project.
· TR3215 Virginia Street and Louisiana Street Traffic Calming Improvements Project will receive:
o $195,000 from ST7128 Intersection Improvements Project
o $35,000 from ST6091 FM 543 Realignment Project
o Total Reallocation = $230,000 from both projects
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
· Pavecon Public Works, L.P. submitted the low bid in the amount of $722,391.11 for the construction of TR3215 Virginia Street and Louisiana Street Traffic Calming Improvements Project.
· If Council chose to approve the concurrent construction contract for TR3215 Virginia Street and Louisiana Street Traffic Calming Improvements Project, this resolution is needed to fund the project.
· If Council did not approve the concurrent construction contract for TR3215 Virginia Street and Louisiana Street Traffic Calming Improvements Project, this resolution is NOT needed.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
· CIP Project No. TR3215 has approximately $600,000 available for the construction of this project.
· The concurrent construction contract resolution authorized a contract and all necessary change orders with Pavecon Public Works, L.P. for an amount not to exceed $830,000.
· Upon approval of this resolution, funding will be available in the Capital Improvements Program ST7128 Intersection Improvements Project ($195,000) and ST6091 FM 543 Realignment Project ($35,000) for a total reallocation of $230,000.
· With approval of the concurrent construction contract resolution and this resolution, $195,000 will be encumbered from ST7128 (no funds remaining) and $35,000 will be encumbered from ST6091 ($265,000 remaining) for construction.
