ITEM SUMMARY:
• This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a contract in the amount of $108,885, as well as all required supplemental agreements thereto, with Maldonado-Burkett, LLP for professional consulting engineering services for the design of continuous roadway illumination on US 380 (University Drive) from Custer Road to Bois D'Arc Road, for a total aggregate contract amount, inclusive of any supplemental agreements, not to exceed $130,000.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• Maldonado-Burkett, LLP submitted a response to 21-19RFQ for traffic engineering services. They were one of six firms pre-qualified in the traffic engineering studies category by City Council on February 2, 2021. Maldonado-Burkett, LLP is the illumination designer for the US 380 section, east of Bois D'Arc Road.
• Construction of this project is estimated to cost a total of approximately $885,000.
• Maldonado-Burkett, LLP submitted a proposal for this project in the amount of $108,885 to perform the professional engineering services. Additional services, if needed, will be provided on an hourly basis, as needed during the design and construction.
• Upon approval of the engineering services contract, Maldonado-Burkett, LLP will perform the design and prepare the construction documents for the project.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• This Resolution authorizes a contract with Maldonado-Burkett, LLP for an amount not to exceed $130,000.
• Funds are available in the Capital Improvements Program TR2024 ($130,000).
• With the approval of this item, $1,870,000 will remain in TR2024.
