ITEM SUMMARY:
• North Collin County Habitat for Humanity is requesting an extension on the term of the performance agreement executed for Project #15-06 from October 24, 2016 to January 23, 2017 (90 days).
• Additionally, the organization is requesting a reallocation of $2,800 originally approved to be used for survey work to be used instead for lot preparation; the reallocation of $27,580.74 originally approved for the purchase of lots for the construction of affordable housing to be used instead for lot preparation; and the reallocation of $2,188.45 originally approved for lot purchase to be used for neighborhood revitalization projects.
• If approved, the balance of the grant funds remaining ($80,261.34) would be available for lot preparation in the amount of $30,261.34 and for neighborhood revitalization projects in the amount of $50,000.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• North Collin County Habitat for Humanity has been building homes for working, low-income families since its incorporation in 1992.
• Through NCCHFH’s neighborhood revitalization program, A Brush with Kindness, low-income homeowners in need of exterior home repairs that are financially unaffordable receive needed renovation services.
• To date, NCCHFH has completed 101 new homes and 123 home rehabs.
• Between June 2015 and July 2016, NCCHFH hosted more than 5,000 volunteers contributing more than 23,000 volunteer hours in support of home construction and repair.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• Total amount of the grant awarded for Project #15-06 was $220,000. The balance remaining on the grant as of October 19, 2016, is $80,261.34.
