RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• Approval of the Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• This Resolution establishes a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) of $8,749,801 as proposed by Crossland Construction Company, Inc.
• This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a contract amendment with Crossland Construction Company, Inc., the Construction Manager at Risk for the North Public Works Complex Project.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The construction documents were issued on April 30, 2021 and have been advertised for bids by Crossland Construction Company, Inc.
• Crossland has compiled the bids and submitted a final Guaranteed Maximum Price for approval.
• With this approval, Crossland will be notified to begin construction with completion scheduled for June 2022.
• Crossland Construction Company, Inc. is ranked among the top general contractors in North Texas and the nation. They are a Prosper, Texas based firm and have successfully completed multiple projects for McKinney and many other municipalities.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• The Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a contract amendment to the existing Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) services contract, for construction services with Crossland Construction Company, Inc. for an amount not to exceed $8,749,801.
• A companion budget amendment being presented will amend the Fiscal Year 2020-2021 Annual Budget and the 2021-2025 Capital Improvement Program to provide $1,250,000 additional funding for the North Public Works Complex Project (FC2058).
• With approval of this item and the companion agenda item, the total project budget remaining in project FC2058 will be $515,646.
