RECOMMENDED PARK BOARD ACTION:
• Approval of Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a contract in the amount of $72,500.00, as well as required supplemental agreements thereto, with Studio Outside, LLC for professional landscape architectural and engineering services for the Renovations to Aging Parks Project (PK1831), for a total aggregate contract amount, inclusive of any supplemental agreements, not to exceed $115,000.00.
• The total aggregate amount includes an estimated $35,000 for additional services to conduct topographical surveys.
• Approval of this item authorizes Studio Outside, LLC, to provide planning and landscape architectural services to renovate four parks.
o E.A. Randles - 5400 Cedar Elm Drive. Built in 2000.
o W.B. Finney - 6350 Glen Oaks Drive. Built in 1994.
o Falcon Creek - 301 Peregrine Drive. Built in 1998.
o Winniford - 4900 Highlands Drive. Built in 1996.
• These four parks are listed in the current Parks Master Plan as part of the recommended 10 parks in need of refreshing and renovating.
• The updates to each park will focus on renovations to the play structures, pavilions, ballfields, and ADA accessibility.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• Studio Outside was selected from a list of pre-qualified landscape architectural firms that Council approved on June 18, 2019.
• The goal is to have these four park projects shovel ready in anticipation of a forthcoming 2020 Bond Issuance.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• The Renovations to Aging Parks (PK1831) is a FY19-20 Capital Improvements Program funded by MCDC funds in an amount of $1,204,583.
• The final project budget is still to be determined, but is programmed to be funded using 2019 authorized bonds in addition to the existing MCDC funding.
• Upon approval of this item, the remaining balance in PK1831 is $1,089,583. A concurrent agenda item that is also being considered out of this PK project is for the Master Plan contract for Dunaway Associates. Approval of that item will bring the final balance in PK1831 to $964,583.

• McKinney’s Parks, Recreation & Open Space Advisory Board reviewed and recommended approval of this item at their December 12, 2019, meeting.
