RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
· Approval of the attached Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
· The Gabe Nesbitt Community Park five-field complex was completed in May of 2005 before downstream sanitary sewer was available. Sanitary sewer effluent has been pumped under pressure to the baseball three field complex where it gravity flows to the east.
· The pump has been an increasingly labor intensive maintenance problem.
· This project will entail removing the sanitary sewer pump and installing sanitary sewer lines to an existing manhole located near the newly constructed tennis courts.
· The North Texas Contracting bid of $130,185 was the low bidder and was very close to the construction cost estimate of $130,000.
· A total of 2 bids were submitted, one being disqualified as non-responsive.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
· Staff recommends accepting the bid from North Texas Contracting for the construction of the Gabe Nesbitt Softball Sanitary Sewer Replacement project.
· North Texas Contracting is currently under contract with the City for utility projects.
· This project was designed in-house by the City's Engineering Department.
· This project is scheduled for completion in May 2013.

· Gabe Nesbitt Softball Sanitary Sewer Replacement Project (PK2259) is a FY 12-13 Capital Improvements Program project funded by MCDC funds.
· The total project budget is $200,000.

BOARD OR COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:
