RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• Approval of the Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• This Resolution authorizes an amendment to the professional services contract to provide architectural and engineering (A/E) services related to the Public Safety Building Phase 5 Expansion and Renovation Project located at the Public Safety Building on 2200 Taylor Burk Drive, McKinney, Texas 75071.
• The Additional Services Amendment 003 includes architectural layout and associated MEP system changes in rooms 1217A “White Collar Crime” and 1217B “Hiring & Training.” VAI will modify existing drawings to incorporate the requested changes and reissue the drawings.
• The selected consultant, VAI, has submitted a proposal to provide these additional professional A/E services for the Public Safety Building Phase 5 Expansion and Renovation Project for an increase of $6,900 to the original contract.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• VAI is a professional architectural & engineering firm based in Addison, Texas and has provided architectural and design services on other successful City of McKinney projects.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• The Resolution authorizes Amendment 003 to the professional services contract for architectural and engineering services, including potential changes to the scope of services, with VAI Architects, Inc. for an additional amount not to exceed $7,500.00 which includes a contingency amount of $600.00
• Approval of these additional A/E services will not increase the overall budget for this project but will use currently unencumbered funds.
• Upon approval of this item, $512,142.66 will remain available in Project FC1729.
