ITEM SUMMARY:
• The STEP - Comprehensive grant pays the salary for two traffic officers to increase enforcement and adjudication of traffic safety-related laws.
• The City has been a recipient of the grant since 2008.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The grant is funded by the Texas Department of Transportation
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• The STEP - Comprehensive grant is in the amount of up to $125,000
• The grant requires a 40% match which can be met through currently budgeted fringe benefits, vehicle and fuel cost.
