ITEM SUMMARY:

The Comegys family has offered to donate a 4.072 acre tract of land located on the east side of US 75, immediately north of City owned land near the Community Center.

These 4 acres have always functioned as City property.  The existing park road that leads to the community center runs through this piece of property as well as a hike and bike trail that leads to Towne Lake.

FINANCIAL SUMMARY:

This is a donation/dedication and no funds will be expended on the acquisition of the land other than typical closing costs.

No additional maintenance funds will be needed with this acquisition as the Parks Department has always mowed and maintained the property.

PARKS, RECREATION AND OPEN SPACE BOARD

On December 14, 2017 the Parks, Recreation and Open Space Advisory Board unanimously recommended that Council authorize the City Manager to execute the donation contract.
