Recognition of McKinney Lifeguards Competing at the 18th Annual North Texas Guard Game

                     The 18th Annual North Texas Guard Games were held on June 26th and 27th at the Tom Landry Fitness Center in Dallas. 

                     Thirty-eight teams from around the Metroplex and two teams from The Woodlands competed at this year’s event.  Each team is comprised of two male and two female lifeguards. 

                     The City of McKinney took four teams to this year’s games.  Each team competed in 10 different events; First Aid/CPR, Fitness, Scanning, Scenario, Weakest Link (a quiz game), Tug-O-War, Spinal Rescue, Obstacle Course, 3 Blind Mice (blindfolded drill) and SDS Mayhem (working with chemical spills). 

                     The top three teams in each category qualify for the State Lifeguard Competition that will be held in College Station on August 3rd

                     Competing for the City of McKinney were Maysn Ungerer, Sydnie Dolzine, Stephen Young and Nic Raimbault  as “The Guardashians”, Griffin White, Christian Schneider, Sutton Haye, and Hannah Dominique  as “The Spinal Countdown”, Narda Bachman, Nic Barkis, Claire Miles and Jack Solis as “Team Fanny Pac-Man” and Samantha Hirt, Antonio Jimenez, Zach Tekavec and Taylor Hartley as “The Oldtimers”. 

                     Team Fanny Pac-Man took home 2nd place medals in the Scenario Event and 1st place in the Obstacle Course Event.  The Oldtimers took home 3rd place medals in the Scanning, Scenario, Weakest Link and Obstacle Course Events.  They also took home 2nd place medals in the First Aid/CPR and SDS Mayhem Events. 

                     Team Fanny Pac-Man finished 2nd and The Oldtimers finished 1st  and both qualified  for the State Lifeguard Competition. 

                     This is the 9th year in a row and 10th time in 11 years that a team from McKinney has qualified for the State Lifeguard Competition.
