ITEM SUMMARY:
• This item allows the City Manager to execute a second amendment to the tennis services management agreement.
• The existing agreement was originally executed in 2012.
• In 2015, a first amendment to the agreement was approved by the City Council.
• The first amendment articulated with more clarity the terms of the agreement including timelines and termination dates.
• The first amendment also allowed for one initial five-year term with two, five-year renewal options.
• A second amendment to the agreement is required to exercise the renewal options.
• The existing contract expires on February 2, 2017.
• Approval of a second amendment to the agreement is proposed which will allow the City Manager to exercise the first, five-year renewal option.
• The attached resolution allows for a second amendment to the agreement and authorizes the City Manager to exercise the first renewal option extending the agreement to February 2, 2022.
• One renewal option of five years will remain.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The original agreement was executed with Lifetime Tennis Inc., a Texas corporation on February 3, 2012.
• City staff and representatives from Lifetime Tennis Inc. met to discuss the desire to extend the contract for an additional five years.
• Both are in support of the contract renewal.
• Staff is extremely pleased with the quality of services provided.
• The proposed amendment has been approved to form by legal counsel.
