RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• Approve Resolution
ITEM SUMMARY:
• Funding is provided to established nonprofits to provide for the health, safety and shelter needs of McKinney residents.
• Funding recommendations are made to City Council by the Community Grants Advisory Commission.
• Current prioritization of funding is for disaster aid, basic needs (food and clothing), housing, health and medical, transportation and recreation and sports.
• Staff requests removing disaster aid and recreation and sports from allowable uses of the Community Support Grant as other resources exist to fill these needs.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The Community Support Grant has been allocated annually by City Council since 2007.
• In FY16, requests of $679,413 were made for available funds of $119,700.

• Prior funding levels are:
2009: $125,000
2010: $126,000
2011 - 2016: $119,700
BOARD OR COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:
• The Community Grants Advisory Commission approved recommendations at their May 11, 2016 meeting.
