ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     The City of McKinney submitted a grant application, in the amount of $7,000,000, for the construction of publicly accessible open space development, to include courtyard and plaza, at the site of the planned City of McKinney Municipal Complex.

                     This project will be funded using GO bonds, water/wastewater bonds, TIRZ 1 funds, ARPA funds and fund balances from various city resources.

                     Design for this project is underway and expected completion of construction is Spring 2025.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:  

                     Design and construction of a new City of McKinney Municipal Complex is planned for the intersection of Virginia and Throckmorton Streets.

                     Plans include design, development and construction of a publicly accessible plaza and courtyard to provide a space for events and community gathering.

                     The space will include stage, pavilion, lighting, event lawn, game lawn and other amenities for the public.

 

FINANCIAL SUMMARY:

                     The request is eligible for MCDC consideration under Section 505.152 of the Texas Local Government Code.
