RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
· Approval of Resolution for acceptance of grant, if awarded
ITEM SUMMARY:
· The primary goal of the Assistance to Firefighter's Grant (AFG) is to meet the firefighting and emergency response needs of fire departments
· Staff requests approval to accept grant, if awarded, for up to $352,708 in AFG funding to purchase Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) to replace equipment that does not meet current NFPA standards
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
· The City of McKinney has thirty-nine (39) SCBA packs and ninety-one (91) cylinders that are not compliant with current NFPA standards
· The City has one year from date of award to purchase the equipment
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
· The total project cost is $440,884 which requires up to a 20% match of $88,176
