ITEM SUMMARY:
• McKinney Community Development Corporation will conduct a public hearing on a retail development infrastructure grant application submitted by Lelo’s Coffee Co. to be located at 402 E. Louisiana Street, McKinney.
• Infrastructure project includes electrical and plumbing.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• Lelo’s Coffee Co. is opening a flagship café in the old weigh station located near the entrance of the new TUPPS Brewery and Entertainment Destination.
• This location will house Lelo’s coffee roaster and cold brew coffee manufacturing in a disconnected silo from the weigh station and will provide wholesale products to grocery stores, restaurants and cafés.
• The site will provide both drive-up and walk-up service.
• The café’ will serve light lunches.
• The infrastructure improvements are necessary to the renovation and enhancements needed to the current building.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• Funds allocated for FY23 Retail Development Infrastructure Grants is $200,000.
• This grant requires a 25% match, and the maximum grant award is limited to $50,000 per grant.
• The request is eligible for MCDC consideration under Section 501.103 of the Texas Local Government Code.
