ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     The Goodman Group provides Transportation Consulting Services.

                     The City Council has indicated that they wanted a contingency plan in the event that Texoma Area Paratransit Services (TAPS) can no longer provide Transportation Services in the City of McKinney.

                     The proposed services include:

                     Complete transportation study and analysis of current transportation systems within the City of McKinney

                     Consulting services for the assistance of reestablishing the City of McKinney as the direct recipient for MUZA funding.

                     The contract between The Goodman Group and the City will begin upon execution of the contract.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     During the past several months, TAPS has significantly reduced the amount of services provided to the City of McKinney.

                     It has been learned that the reduction in services are due to financial challenges within the TAPS organization.

                     Due to these service issues, City Council has directed staff to look at alternative options for transportation services within the City of McKinney.

 

FINANCIAL SUMMARY: 

                     The cost of the consulting services will be $65,000 and will be funded out of the General Fund Non-Departmental account 001-9999-403-8516.
