ITEM SUMMARY:
• The Goodman Group provides Transportation Consulting Services.
• The City Council has indicated that they wanted a contingency plan in the event that Texoma Area Paratransit Services (TAPS) can no longer provide Transportation Services in the City of McKinney.
• The proposed services include:
• Complete transportation study and analysis of current transportation systems within the City of McKinney
• Consulting services for the assistance of reestablishing the City of McKinney as the direct recipient for MUZA funding.
• The contract between The Goodman Group and the City will begin upon execution of the contract.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• During the past several months, TAPS has significantly reduced the amount of services provided to the City of McKinney.
• It has been learned that the reduction in services are due to financial challenges within the TAPS organization.
• Due to these service issues, City Council has directed staff to look at alternative options for transportation services within the City of McKinney.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• The cost of the consulting services will be $65,000 and will be funded out of the General Fund Non-Departmental account 001-9999-403-8516.
