RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:                      

                     Approval of Resolution for acceptance of FY13 STEP Comprehensive grant, if awarded.

 

ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     The STEP - Comprehensive grant pays overtime for traffic officers to increase enforcement and adjudication of traffic safety-related laws

                     The City has been a recipient of the grant since 2008

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     The grant is funded by the Texas Department of Transportation

 

FINANCIAL SUMMARY: 

o                     Grant Funds:

                     The FY 13 STEP Comprehensive grant application is in amount of $17,538.25

                     The grant requires a 50% match

Funds provided by the City:

o                     Cash match - $1,682

o                     Fringe Benefits - $4,886

o                     Fuel/Vehicle Operation & Maintenance Costs - $11,200
