ITEM SUMMARY:
* The city is a grantee of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and was awarded an FY 2020-21 allocation of $850,449. The city also received a total CDBG-CV allocation of $1,228,992 (CDBG-CV), authorized under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act, Public Law 116-136 (CARES Act). This scope of CDBG-CV funding will be used to assist eligible residents with rental, mortgage, and utility assistance to benefit eligible low-to-moderate income households.
* CDBG-CV funding must be used to prevent, prepare for, and respond to coronavirus; HUD has provided waivers and provisions for the city to use its CDBG program year 2019 funds to prevent, prepare for, and respond to coronavirus purpose within FY 2020-2021 program year. These program year 2019 classified in the previous annual action plan as housing rehab funds (CDBG) will be reclassified as FY 2020-2021 CDBG-CV COVID-19 housing rehab funds, with $401,328 to assist with home repairs and $10,000 of the reclassified funds provided to the McKinney Fire Department under the CDBG-CV telehealth services program.
