RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of Resolution

ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a contract in the amount of $188,400 with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. to provide consulting engineering services for the Downtown Lighting Study and authorizing all necessary change orders under said contract up to an aggregate contract amount, inclusive of any change orders, not to exceed $208,000.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* The Downtown Lighting Study will determine inadequacies in the existing downtown lighting infrastructures by identifying fixtures for replacement, locations of dark spots and mitigations. This study will also provide recommendation for implementation of new lighting infrastructure to meet the needs of the pedestrians, bicyclists, and vehicles.
* Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. was selected out of two consulting firms that submitted qualifications for TR2125. They are one of ten firms selected as part of 21-19RFQ - On-Call Traffic Engineering Services that was approved by City Council on February 2, 2021.
* Upon approval of the engineering services contract, Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. will perform the data collection, photometric analysis, stakeholder engagement and provide lighting improvement recommendations as defined in the Downtown Lighting Study scope of services.
