RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
· Approval of Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
· This Resolution awards a contract to IPS Advisors to provide employee benefits broker and consultant services to the City of McKinney.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
· The City of McKinney issued a request for qualifications (13-15RFQ) for benefits broker/consultant services, in December 2012.
· Bid opening of 13-15RFQ was held on January 10, 2013.
· Total of seven (7) bids were received.
· A committee of five (5) staff members from the Human Resources department reviewed and ranked the bids based on the following criteria:
o The firm's and the proposed project team/staff's qualifications
o The firm's proposed services meeting the objectives in the RFQ
o References and recent proven success
o Innovative, value-added services and additional support
· Of the seven (7) firms that submitted bids, IPS Advisors is recommended as the most qualified.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
· Funding is available in account number 015-2110-413.85-16
