ITEM SUMMARY:
· This Ordinance revises Ordinance 2013-06-051 (approved by the City Council on June 4, 2013) which established school zones and crosswalks for Lindsey Elementary School.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
· On August 5, 2013, after City Council approved Ordinance 2013-06-051 setting the school zones and crosswalks for Lindsey Elementary School, Allen ISD staff requested a revision to the placement of the crosswalks on Berkley Drive. This requested revision affects the placement of crossing guards for the school. The school zones and times for Lindsey Elementary School will remain unchanged.
- The Principal for Lindsey Elementary altered the traffic circulation on the school site warranting the change to the crosswalk locations.
- This revision will set a crosswalk on Berkley Drive at Bentrose Drive and another crosswalk on Berkley Drive at Wilford Drive. Both crosswalks will have a crossing guard.
- The previously approved Ordinance had the crosswalk set at Hampshire Drive on Berkley Drive. This crosswalk will be removed.
- The previously approved crosswalk on Wilford Drive at Sugar Valley Road will remain unchanged.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
· Funds for this item are available in the operating budget of the Public Works Department.
