ITEM SUMMARY:   The applicant is requesting an extension of the specific use permit approval in order to allow adequate time to obtain a building permit for a restaurant with drive-through window. Currently, Section 146-41 (Specific use permits) of the Zoning Ordinance states that a building permit must be obtained within six months of specific use permit approval.  The applicant received approval of a specific use permit (SUP) to allow a restaurant with drive-through window on the subject property on April 7, 2015 (Ordinance No. 2015-04-027), which is set to expire on October 7, 2015. With the approval of this extension request, the applicant will have until March 31, 2016 to obtain a building permit. Staff has no objection to the requested extension (see attached letter) and recommends approval of the request.
