RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of Resolution.

ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Resolution authorizes the Interim City Manager to execute a contract and all necessary change orders with Roadway Solutions, Inc., for the construction of four new traffic signals at various locations for a total contract amount not to exceed $760,000.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* Signals are to be constructed at the following four locations with this project:
* Custer Road and Cotton Ridge South Road
* Custer Road and Cotton Ridge North Road
* Custer Road and Bristol Road
* Eldorado Parkway and College Street
* Savant Group, Inc., prepared the construction plans for this project.
* Two bids were received for this project on July 3, 2014. The following is a summary of the bids:

* Roadway Solutions, Inc., has successfully completed other projects in the City of McKinney, including a total of 28 new traffic signals from 2003 to 2010 and the Custer Road street lighting project in 2014.
* The contract documents require that this project be completed within 120 calendar days after issuance of the Notice to Proceed, which is expected in August. Construction is expected to be complete in December 2014.
