ITEM SUMMARY:
· This Ordinance establishes the school zones and crosswalks for Lindsey Elementary School, a new school opening in the Allen ISD.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
· Allen ISD will open Lindsey Elementary on Berkley Drive, located in the Village Park neighborhood, for the upcoming 2013-2014 school year.
- The effective times for the reduced speed school zones are as follows:
- Morning school zones begin 45 minutes before the beginning of the school attendance period and end 15 minutes after arrival time.
- Afternoon school zones begin 15 minutes before the end of the school attendance period and end 45 minutes after dismissal time.
- The school attendance periods will be consistent with the Allen ISD schedule.
- The locations of the proposed school zones and crosswalks for Lindsey Elementary School are shown on the attached exhibit.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
· Funds for this item are available in the operating budget of the Public Works Department.
