• Adopts the most recent version of the Texas Food Establishment Rules.
• Establishes inspection criteria for food establishments.
• Establishes requirements for Certified Food Manager (CFM) on each shift and available.
• Establishes definitions for various permits.
• Establishes re-inspection timeline and procedures.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• This item was tabled from the September 17th Council Meeting.
• Council directed Staff to establish a timeline for re-inspections of food establishments.
• Staff invited permit holders in July to an open forum discussion to discuss changed and provide feedback.
• Two meetings were held with approximately 60 total attendees.
• Some revisions were made to the ordinance based on the feedback and concerns of permit holders.
• Council directed staff to include language regarding Certified Food Manager.
