RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• Approval of the Ordinance
ITEM SUMMARY:
• The City of McKinney was allocated funding from the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) CARES Act in the amount of $8,844,174.
• The funding may be used for activities to prevent, prepare for, and respond to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
• Staff proposes to program $200,000 of this funding to provide transportation to McKinney residents who need transportation to the City of McKinney COVID-19 vaccination hub.
• Transportation will be provided by Irving Holdings, current MUTD taxi service contractor.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• FTA CARES Act Funding, in the amount of $8,844,174, was approved for acceptance by the McKinney Urban Transit District (MUTD) Board on June 17, 2020.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• The Ordinance amends the MUTD Fiscal Year 2020-2021 Annual Budget, allocating funds received from the Federal Transit Administration totaling not to exceed $200,000. Expenditures will be under Fund 073.
