RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of Ordinance
ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Ordinance amends the FY 2014-2015 annual CIP budget and the 2015-2019 Capital Improvements Program by:
o Transferring $140,000 from the Parkland Dedication Fund (Zone 3) fund balance to the Parks Construction Fund
o Appropriating $140,000 in the Parks Construction Fund to supplement the proposed construction contract for CIP Project PK9140 - Sonntag Neighborhood/School Park Project.
* Bids for construction on the Sonntag Neighborhood/School Park Project (PK9140) have been received and the recommended contract exceeds the amount of funds available for construction by $38,540.
* The $38,540 amount does not include any project construction contingency.
* Typically, a project of this scale would include a 5% construction contingency.
* Increased funding of $140,000 is needed to construct as planned and provide a contingency for the Sonntag Neighborhood/School Park project
* This Budget Amendment will bring the total project cost of CIP Project PK9140 - Sonntag Neighborhood/School Park Project, to $2,415,000.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* The project has been bid in a manner consistent with State Law.
* The project cost has increased since this project budget was originally established due to market conditions as well as the addition of LED lights along the project perimeter.
