RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Consider/Discuss/Act on the composition of a Visioning Advisory Committee for the Park Master Plan Update.

ITEM SUMMARY:
* In support of the Park Master Plan Update, Staff recommends the creation of and appointment of representatives to a Visioning Advisory Committee in order to support and champion the process.

* The Committee is intended to guide the outcome of this project, provide intermediary reviews of concepts and broad recommendations, and help ensure the plan aligns with the goals of the community.

* Staff recommends that the nine (9) person Committee be comprised of the following:

o 3 - City Council Representatives
* Mayor Pro-Tem Ussery
* Councilman Branch
* Councilwoman Rath

o 3 - Community Development Corporation Representatives
* Dave Clarke
* Hamilton Doak
* Rick Glew

o 3 - Parks, Recreation and Open Space (PROS) Advisory Board Representatives
* Kip Dixon
* Jackie Brewer
* Bryan Perkins

* Three (3) Visioning Advisory Committee meetings are anticipated throughout the Park Master Plan Update process. There will also be multiple public meetings with the general public and various stakeholders throughout the process at which the presence of Staff and Advisory Committee members will be important.

* Staff anticipates that the first Visioning Committee meeting will be held in late September or early October.
